Bush Kindy

Clearview is an established centre nestled in a beautiful semi-rural environment. The pedagogical practices of our educators focus on passion for outdoors, learning in nature, unstructured, risky/challenging play whilst scaffolding and facilitating our children to develop holistically.

We believe that Nature Play sessions, Bush Kindy adventures and spending time outdoors, away from the traditional classroom setting, assists with the overall development and wellbeing of all children. Regular visits to the same natural settings enable children to connect to their surrounding environment. By nurturing connections with nature and others, we hope to foster stewardship of the earth and a sustainable future.

Clearview empowers educators and teachers to take part in outdoor experiences and facilitate children to assess and take risks in their educational journey. The introduction of a variety of tools, fire, loose parts and time to engage in unstructured play builds confidence, resilience, teamwork, social and emotional skills, early literacy and mathematical concepts, science and investigative learning.

Prior to 2017, Clearview had been running Nature Play Programs to support our semi-rural families. As of February 2017, we have continually implemented a regular off-site Bush Kindy Program.

Clearview is a Nature Play Qld Educational Provider and liaises with Nature Play Queensland and Forest School Learning Initiative (FSLI) UK. To enhance our knowledge and understanding of the nature play/FSLI ethos, several of our educators have completed the one-day Introduction to Forest School workshop. We have two qualified Forest School Leaders Level 3.

In addition, we have been voted runner up QORF Outdoor Education Nature Play Award and have won the Outdoor Educator Award -The Fear of Risk.

Through our collaboration with Nature play QLD we featured in a Channel 9 news item with our Bush Kindy Program.
